THE CHALLENGE

Recently, DEL senior high school was extending their school area. Being one of the top high schools in North Sumatra, DEL senior high school was determined to take on the leading role in environmental protection and set an example for other schools in the area. They were looking for a lighting system that would not only lower the maintenance cost but would also be environmentally friendly. Because the classrooms, laboratories, and numerous teaching facilities consume large electric power, the administrators were in the need of energy-saving and clean energy lighting system to illuminate the school’s new pathway. In order to lower the pressure of electric supply, carbon footprint and give a sufficient lighting to the pathway, DEL senior high school administrators decided to use Pbox’s solar lighting systems

Requirements

For Ooredoo data center, three main requirements stood out:

Reliabilities: This was important for the Ooredoo to ensure the lights remained working and didn’t leave the datacenter in the dark. AL MUHANDIS sought an established, proven solution, making PBOX a good fit since PBOX has more than 3,000 outdoor lighting installations around the world.

Lights Levels

AL MUHANDIS also sought lighting that would meet the IES light level standards for street lighting, a feature that today’s solar street lights, including PBOX, are able to meet and often exceed

Requirements

The new chicken farm is one of the thousands chicken farms of Charoen Pokphand Indonesia owned. Not only the lighting performance required, but the lighting lasting period also important. The chicken farm need guaranteed all night lighting to ensure the security and brightness in no matter what weathers.

Off Grid Solar System Solution

We provide P6 series solar lighting system with a 60W solar panels and 230Wh LiFePO4 Li-ion battery. The system is equipped with 4 bulbs, one tube and 4 5V 2.1A USB charging ports, which can allow multiple phones to be charged at once, which is especially useful for families. And the DC-12V interface with high-power output can solve the most basic power requirements for a large family, including powering LED lighting, fans, TVs etc., which can greatly improve the happiness index of local residents.

After the analysis and research, PBOX offers a solar street light solution for the roundabout project. X5 split type solar street light, which can adjust the solar panel and the light head according to the solar radiation intensity and light direction requirement. Except for the adjustable function, the X5 equips the PIR motion sensor which can adjust the light brightness automatically. With all these features, the contractors decided to choose the X5 split type in the roundabout project. PBOX X5 solar street lights were installed around the roundabout and because of the adjustable function from solar street light, all X5 solar lights can satisfy the lighting requirement no matter which position they are.

The Challenge

Owing to its zero-carbon promise, Masdar City must balance economic and technological development with the preservation of its energy and sustainability.

The authorities had three objectives

• Create substantial long-term cost and energy savings

• Illuminate parking lots and open spaces at night to create a greater sense of safety and cater

to residents’ needs and city traffic, and to improve the overall quality of life

• Preserve the natural resources and be Eco-friendly in every aspect with minimal or no maintenance
